About Belly Dance: Belly dance is an enjoyable way to get in shape while simultaneously getting in touch with your body and spirit. You will quickly benefit from an improved posture, toned muscles, and weight loss. It is a joyful way to de-stress, build confidence and re-discover your feminine nature!
About the Class During this weekly class we will explore technique, music, culture and ourselves. Here some of the elements found in our Belly Dance class.
- Posture adjustment & warming up exercises - Natural isolation exercises to strengthen torso muscles and discover staccato movements (hips, ribcage and shoulder) - Shimmy exercises to develop small, fast, continuous vibration movements of the hips - Fluid movements practised to create flowing and sinuous movements to interpret the music and rhythms - Demonstrate a short drum solo choreography - Deep relaxation & self-massage
Class Attire: - Barefoot or flats - Tight top and leggings to show body’s outline & permit visibility of movement - A scarf or shawl to tie around your hips

Tianyi first started learning Belly dance in 2004 and soon discovered her true passion for this one of the oldest dance forms in the world. She pursued her dance technique and knowledges of music, instruments and culture by learning from the most prestigious Oriental dance performers and teachers from around the world, including Morocco (C.V. Dinicu), Tamalyn Dallal, Oscar Flores, Karim Nagi, Tito Seif, Asmahan and Estelle Shao.
